The biggest debate in Buffalo history started way back in the 1960s and it is who has the best wings in town. One of those Must Try places made a little history over the weekend by opening for the first time ever on a Saturday.

Wingnutz is the hot new place for wings in Buffalo. We tried them once a few months ago at their first location and loved them, but we believe we need to try something twice to fully determine how much we like them. Consistency is super important. Wingnutz opened in Froth Brewing Co. recently so we were excited to try a new brewery and have Wingnutz again.

We're drooling just thinking about it. I should start by saying that I consider myself something of a chicken wing aficionado. I grew up in Buffalo and have made it my mission to try chicken wings across the country whenever I travel. And, though Alton Brown may beg to differ, I am here to tell you the best chicken wings, understandably, come from Buffalo. After all, they were invented here in New York’s second-largest city in the 1960s, so there’s an abundance of great restaurants serving this savory bar snack. But, finding the right wing that balances spice, a crispy exterior, size, a moist interior, and a sauce that adheres to the wing is more complicated than you might expect. But that’s where Wingnutz comes in.

In 2005, Ed and Alicia Wrazen had chicken wings so dismal, they spent a year developing their own ideal wing and over time, the wing they developed attracted a cult following. Last year, the hosts of “Pardon My Take,” a sports-centric podcast that usually draws more than 750,000 listeners per episode, tried the Wrazens’ work and declared: “We Found The Best Wings In The World.”
